Episode Engine

Episode Engine (published by Telestream) is a tool designed to speed up the process of digital movie compression by using a drop folder, which takes files placed in it and applies certain codecs. How large the file will be, its quality and its format are determined by the user once and then applied to all files in that folder.

One can also use multiple computers to spread the immense workload of converting larger files. For example, 2 computers could be used to split the amount of processing power needed for each workstation in half.

When the files are successfully converted they can be sent automatically to an FTP server and uploaded. This allows clients to access the completed files as they are created.

The program saves time and simplifies a once painstaking process allowing the user to focus on other aspects of a project. Its low cost (AU $395) makes it a realistic option for people ranging from amateur to professional skill levels.
